We are on the home stretch for this semester. It is hard to believe we are almost at the half-way point of the school year.
8th grade tutoring will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, November 29th at 4PM. Extra Credit assignments are due this Wednesday, November 30. We are finishing Something Wicked This Way Comes this week, and our final test will be next Wednesday, December 7. Both the literary analysis and the character scrapbook projects are due Friday, December 9. In addition to the assignment sheet in their packet, there is a section in the Collections Book on page 137 that covers writing a literary analysis.

Believe it or not, this is our last week before Thanksgiving break. We have a LOT going on here at Odyssey this week.
Remember, Middle School feast is tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 15. The Varsity food truck will be here along with Frigid Frog. If you haven't sent money, you can still order on site tomorrow. Remember, meals are $8 and Frigid Frog is $3-$6. If you would like to attend with your child, but do not want to purchase The Varsity, you can bring a lunch and join us at 12:30. Book Fair is this week!! Family night is Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 5-7PM. Students will have opportunities to go during the week as well if they have money to make a purchase. 8th grade will have a test this Wednesday over chapters 18-29 in Something Wicked This Way Comes. It will cover the questions as well as the vocabulary. We went over both last week, so that everyone could study. There will be no retakes, so please study!! Don't forget early dismissal on Friday. Notes went home last week regarding the schedule and the bus schedule. If you did not get one, it can be viewed on the Odyssey website. This week in 8th grade we are continuing our Something Wicked book, and preparing for another test next Wednesday, November 16. The next test will cover chapters 19-35. These are very short chapters, so it isn't as much information as it may seem.
Students need to make sure they are checking their due dates regularly! Many have been turning in late assignments, and this is damaging to their grades. We have an assignment from the packet that is due this Friday, Nov. 11. Please make sure it is complete and turned in to me ON TIME. Due Date Change: We will not finish the book before the break as I had planned, so I am changing the due date for the literary analysis and character scrapbook. The new due date will be Friday, Dec. 9. The extra credit due date will remain the same. Our canned food drive begins tomorrow! Please be generous. These will be used to fill the local food pantry for the holiday season to serve families in need. Please remember to turn in your lunch forms by this Friday for the Thanksgiving Feast. Book Fair is next week, Nov. 14-18, and Family Night is Wednesday Nov. 15. from 5-7 PM |
